Severn River Music Dept.

The award winning Severn River Middle School music department consists of a chamber and string orchestra, symphonic and concert band, jazz band, and several choruses.

The school is located in Arnold, Maryland, close to the Chesapeake Bay in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Performances include music festivals, elementary feeder schools concerts, winter and spring concerts, and other events.

Rehearsal Times for 2008-9

In order to participate in a performing group and go on the spring trip, students must attend early morning rehearsals held from 7:30 - 9:00 am. 

The following is the schedule for rehearsals this school year which will begin in mid-September.

Mondays - Concert Band

Tuesdays - Chamber Orchestra

Wednesdays -

Symphonic Band/(beg. at 7:30am)

Concert Choir (beg. at 7:45)

Thursdays - Jazz Band

Fridays - String Orchestra

Congratulations, Chamber Orchestra!

The SRMS Chamber Orchestra was awarded the Grand Sweepstakes Award for their performance at the Music Showcase Festival in New Jersey this past April.  This award is given to the highest scoring middle school instrumental ensemble in all categories for the six weekends of Music Festivals competitions in New Jersey.  The school will receive a trophy to be displayed near the main office.
